The Beginning...

March 16th, 2015 is a day that we will never forget.  Many of you know that Tom and I had been trying to get pregnant for nearly three years.  At one point, we even made  an appointment with a fertility clinic only to find out that we were in the 20 percent category of unexplained infertility.  This year, however, was different, ironically, for three reasons.  First, we renewed our faith in God, which helped out tremendously with the stress we were dealing with and grounded us in general.  Second, the long-standing legal issue that Tom was dealing with finally came to a conclusion, lifting a weight off both our shoulders.  Third, Tom was researching natural fertility treatments and discovered some natural herbs that supposedly helped with regulating hormones related to pregnancy.

Well, our years of "practicing" and praying finally yielded a pale blue line on the pregnancy test.  We had just returned from an unexpected mid-week trip to Pittsburgh to greet our new nephew, Rooney Matthew Cooper, into the world (typical child of Kim and Matt to show up early).

The following weekend, it was a few days before I was supposed to get my period.  Tom suggested that I take a pregnancy test and I did, only to yield a negative result.  The weekend came and went and we were both home on Monday dealing with repairs to our broken water supply pipe.  Tom was downstairs cooking breakfast and I decided to take another pregnancy test.  I waited and slowly saw a blue line appearing in the "positive" circle!  Shocked and ecstatic, I ran downstairs, tears of joy running down my face, and showed Tom the test stick.  At first he did not realize what it meant and wanted to know if I was okay since I was crying.  We immediately embraced in excitement that our time had finally come.  And now the waiting game, waiting to tell our family and waiting for the first doctor's appointment...
